Random pictures

Here are some random pictures from the last couple of months.

Having fell asleep with her favorite doll. Apparently the movie hadn't been entertaining enough.

Watching the Civil War football game with Rachelle and Kevin.

Very carefully writing in the tiny book that came with her doll.

All excited when I switched her bed to the twin size daybed instead of her toddler bed. Complete with new sheets and comforter. She only needed the bed rail for a couple of night. So far she hasn't fallen out yet---amazing since she moves all over at night.

This fake rose is from a tea party set and she came into the room the other day with it inbetween her teeth. When asked what she was doing she replied "I'm dancing!" Apparently she had watched a little too much of Dancing with the Stars.

Decorating the tree

Danica helped me decorate the Christmas tree this year. She loves Christmas trees and lights. She would pick an ornament to put on the tree and as she put it on she would declare "oooh, Grandma would love this one!" She also wanted to be in her dressup dress while decorating.
Apparently doing a "gangsta" pose.

Carefully placing the pinecones one the tree. The tree came with some pinecone ornaments that I just would never put on. However....this year after I had put the tree up I was moving the box to the garage and Danica saw on the side of the box that the picture had pinecones on it. She then loudly declared "Mommy! You forgot the pinecones!" Fortunately they were in the ornament box and so this year we had pinecones on the tree.

Showing off one of the pinecones.
I have an angel for the top of the tree but Danica (for some reason) didn't want an angel on top. She wanted a star. So we took a little trip to Target to look for the star. I personally wasn't a big fan of any of the stars that they had but I wasn't the only one being picky. While looking at the endcap with the stars on it I asked her which one she liked (all the while hoping she wasn't going to like one of the really tacky looking ones) and she said "I don't like any of them"
Me: "You don't like any of them?"
Danica: "Nope, I don't"
One of the other ladies shopping started to laugh and I told her that I had a perfectly good angel at home but she wanted a star this year. She thought it was hilarious. It was until I had gone to two stores and still hadn't found a suitable star. So the top of the tree was bare this year.

Thanksgiving

We celebrated Thanksgiving on Friday this year. We invited some friends over for dinner and had a wonderful time.

Danica helped me peel potatoes. She loves to help in the kitchen so whenever I can figure out something for her to do that isn't dangerous I let her.

Her job was to help wash the potatoes and after I cut them up to put them in the pot.

I just have to say yummy looking and tasting turkey!

Pretty table with lots of yummy food. Everyone sitting around trying to make room for pie.

Danica requested the drumstick for dinner. I showed her how big it was and she still wanted it.

She did a pretty good job on it too!
It would have been nice to have been able to be with family but this was a pretty good substitute.

Happy Birthday!

This year with our birthdays falling on Thanksgiving we had a low key day. Very low key. As in the place where we going to go for dinner had only a Thankgiving buffet and since we were going to eat that food the next day we didn't want it so we stayed home. And you won't see a picture of her blowing out candles because we didn't have a cake--the restaurant has the best birthday dessert and having planned on that I didn't make a cake. And I'm ok with that.

Waiting patiently to open her presents. Very much liking her book that her Grandma Ryther gave her. Especially since Grandma is recorded reading it to her.

Present from Tim and Monica-- she loves the princess tent and sleeping bag. And her camera from us. Which we had to return and still owe her a new one. It was a piece of c***. She loved it for the few short hours she got to play with it.

A few days later her present from her Auntie Janeen and her family came.
This doll has been a big hit. She loves to play with it and have it go to "preschool" and it occasionally sits in time out for "not listening"

Halloween

Danica wanted to be Tinkerbell for Halloween and Tinkerbell she was. We once again went trunk or treating at Kelli's church. I'm not sure where my pictures are from that so this is all you get!

Afternoon in the park

It was beautiful here one afternoon so I grabbed Danica and the camera and headed to the park to see if I could get a couple of semi decent pictures. Here's a couple.

Trip to Bend

We headed to Bend for a weekend in October. The weather was supposed to be pretty crummy but we found a pretty good deal at a resort and decided to go anyways. Good thing we did because it turned out to be gorgeous weather while we were there. Unfortunately we packed for cooler weather and could have been in capris and sandles easily.

We stopped to get a look at Three Sisters on the way there.

Looking at the mountains with mom.

The Three Sisters.

She enjoyed some relaxing time on the bed watching a movie.

And a little more relaxing time. And yes she knew I was taking a picture and posed for it.
Hanging out with me

As close as we could get to Mt. Bachelor.
And Daddy too.
Running back to the car not knowing that 3 hours in it lay in store.

This was part of the resort.
While in Bend we went to the High Desert Museum. They had some pioneer and Native American displays that were really neat.

Of course Jason was amused by the outhouse and Danica tried to shut him in.

And what trip with Danica would be complete without chipmunks. This one kept coming in and out of his hole and it made for lots of fun chasing it.

Preschool Pumpkin Patch Trip

Danica's first field trip was to the pumpkin patch. Of course it was cold and sprinkling out that day. Fortunately it wasn't as muddy as I had expected.
We were the first to arrive right after the teachers so we had a little waiting to do.
She decided that she needed a wheelbarrow. And tried getting classmate Ethan in on the action. Ethan wanted his own.

She also wanted to have her picture taken in all of the cutouts they had. I lost track at ten.
She was not being very patient while waiting for everyone to get on the hayride. The little boys next to her are twins Pat and Matt. And they are dressed alike every day. I've seen the teachers put a sticker on the back of one so they know who is who.
Trying to decide which pumkpin to pick out.

This field was specifically for field trip groups. It had nice small pumpkins that the kids could carry.
The patch also has an apple orchard and the kids each got to pick an apple as well. Danica listened very carefully when the guide explained how to twist and pull the apple. She then twisted it without me reminding her and was so proud of her apple. It became a snack later that day.

Heading fearlessly into the cornmaze ahead of everyone else.

Running around in the teepee.
Climbing the pyramid of hay, then getting stuck halfway up and not knowing how to get down.

She would have staying in the petting zoo for hours if I had let her. The calf was so cute and licked hands.

And after washing the cow licked hands we had a snack of fresh apple cider and apple cider donuts.
